Home Made Lasagna For Vegetarians

By saying Home Made Lasagna I mean that everything is homemade including the lasagne sheets.. Many of you are astonished when I tell you that I make my own pasta shell and sheets. Actually it is very easy to make and is almost similar to our roti dough.
 Actually I enjoy making my own pasta each and every time (trying different shapes) and it cooks very fast and is very soft to eat. Lasagna sheets are very easy to make for beginners as it does'nt involve any complicated shapes, you just have to roll it thin and cut it into rectangles. And an added advantage is that my recipe is made of Wheat flour.




Things needed for Pasta Dough

Wheat Flour - 2 cups
Egg - 2
Salt

For Sauce

Onion - 1
Capsicum - 1
Garlic - 3
Carrot, Eggplant, Zucchini, Mushroom
Tomato puree
Pepper
Salt
Oregano
Wheat flour 1 Tbsp
Milk - 1 cup

Mix Wheat Flour with 2 eggs and form a thick ball adding little bit of water.



Slice onion and other vegetables like Zucchini, Eggplant, Carrot, Mushrooms or any other vegetable of your choice.


In little oil or butter add crushed garlic, onion and capsicum and saute until all are soft.


Add sliced vegetables with pepper powder and mix it well until vegetables are soft.


Add half cup tomato puree to the vegetables and cook it well until the raw taste of tomato goes.


Now since tomato sauce is quite strong I make a white sauce combined in this sauce itself, this softens the taste of the tomato sauce a little bit. Add Wheat flour to the vegetables and mix it well.


Add milk to the vegetables and mix it well.


Let this sauce boil for few minutes and it is ready.


Roll the dough into thin sheets using a pasta machine or a roti maker. Cut the sheets into squares and keep aside till you wish to boil it.



Boil water with little oil and put pasta sheets in it. Since it is home made it cooks immediately and will float. Once it floats, remove it from the boiling water.

In baking pan spread a layer of sauce then keep the cooked lasagna sheet on top of it.

Again spread little bit more sauce and keep the sheet. Form three layers like this.


Spread Cheese on top of the topmost layer and sprinkle oregano.



Bake it in oven for 12- 13 minutes. I like to spread little Olive oil on top since my family members like it that way.


 Bake it just before serving it so it will be hot and tasty.

Healthy and tasty Lasagna is ready. Can be served with Garlic Bread. I shall upload my garlic bread recipe soon.
