Millets Set Dosa

Set Dosa is a famous Karnataka Food which is like sponge dosa, and if you like soft dosa then this is the one for you. As always I was wondering what to make  for breakfast in the morning this recipe sounded good. I had to just soak it for half an hour and grind it before going to bed and then morning will  be peaceful for me. I have tried it with sama millet but you can opt for any other little millet or even rice. Soak and grind just 4 ingredients(Millet, Urid dal, Poha and Curd) for this incredible dosa.

Fusion Cauliflower Manchurian Curry

From picture you may think this is some normal cauliflower curry. For most of the ladies it always is a big task to think, what to cook for Dinner or Breakfast, than actual cooking itself. Today, as usual I had difficult time deciding what to cook for dinner. After checking my stock decided to make cauliflower Manchurian, but felt that it is not good for today’s paratha. Then decided to make curry with cauliflower and made this fusion curry, in which i have cooked cauliflower like Manchurian(which is shallow fried) and then added it in creamy curry, taste was good and my family enjoyed it. I am sharing you my recipe below try it out. This quantity will be sufficient for three to four people.

Spinach Egg Florentine

Today I am showing how to prepare Spinach Egg Florentine. This particular recipe I have learnt it from my daughter how is studying hotel management. As usual I have changed it to suit my family members taste. This recipe contains different layers of Spinach, tomato paste, then egg and then it is topped with white sauce and cheese on the top. My daughter explained it without tomato paste but I have used it for enhancing taste. One thing may go wrong in this recipe, that is water will come separately while baking, that is because you have not sauteed spinach until it is totally dry. This Portion was enough for three person.

Idly with goodness Soy

Remember small changes together makes huge difference in your lifestyle. If you are a person who likes to eat Idlies and dosa for breakfast. Then here is a tip for you to add goodness of soya in your batter. Soya is full of Calcium and it help with strength of bones and teeth. And it is rich in protein and Iron. Adding this to your daily food gives more benefits. There won't be much difference in the look and feel of your Idly and dosa in this method. Idlies will be much more softer than the normal Idly. Many mix soy flour before making Idly, if you prepare batter in this method you need not mix flour just soak Whole soy and grind it with dal. I have given full procedure of how i make it below.

Millets Paniyaram

  This Paniyaram can be made with any kind of millet today I am showing here today with sama rice. Night normally before going to bed,  I always decide what to cook for breakfast in the morning today while thinking about got this idea and soaked the millet and dal f or 30 minutes and then grind it before going to bed. so morning it was easy for me to get the breakfast ready pretty faster. Soak 1 1/2 cup of sama and 1/2 cup of Urid dal and grind it into a thick paste and let it ferment. then only it will be light and fluffy.

Creamy Fusion Cauliflower

This Creamy Cauliflower is a fusion like recipe and, I have done it in two steps, one is preparing Cauliflower like a fried tikka  purely Indian style, and then a creamy white sauce which is made commonly for pasta. Looks like a western food and looks can be deserving this dish tastes totally different. I have to pat myself on the for making dish. It can take with just some Garlic bread or just like that.

Zuchini Pancakes with Vegetable Cheese Sauce

Always wanted to try this dish and tried it for first time last month when my younger daughter was still in home before her college started and it was a good hit in our house. It was not even enough for four people and then i had to made little bit more extra side by side. I have made pancake separately and the made cheese sauce separately.  Today i had only mushroom so in that sauce added mushroom and bit carrot only, you can try it with different vegetables like cauliflower, broccoli, potato etc. And in the pancake we can try it with bottle gourd or potato instead of Zucchini.

This is my first new recipe after my younger daughter left for college in Mumbai. After she left home to stay in Mumbai i realized her value, She has been the one who helped me in this food blog a lot. Thanks to her. Today i made nuggets with leftover boiled tapioca. Fusion Sandwich what is this fusion. When I have just little any variety dosa batter and few slice of bread this is the dish i come up with. Today I had Kuzhi Paniyaram batter and made this sandwich with cheese spread and coleslaw stuffing. Once toasted this bread becomes slightly chewy in texture and tastes good by itself without any stuffing. Eggplant Dip Quesadilla

It has been little long since I wrote in my blog, not  only blog it has been little long since i have cooked properly in my house. I have been using lots of eggplants in my recipes yet here again one more to add in the list. As always i have made it with Wheat flat bread and 99.99% except little cheese. Hope you all will try it out. You can add fried veges, mushrooms or even cooked Chicken or lamb to it. Be creative with what use Since returning back from holidays my fridge is literally empty so doing this dish with whatever i have handy now. So many days i have been thinking about making this dish and finally did it. This dip is almost like Baba Ganoush but in my own way.

No Rice Bottle gourd Dosa

Bottle gourd Dosa is made with Just bottle gourd and Millets like Sama, Tina. You can also substitute it with rice if you are not a millets person. This is a change from same old dosa variety. I always make it crispy without adding Urid dal if you like soft dosa add just 2Tbsp urid dal and grind it then you will get more softer version of this same dosa. Just half an hour soaking of Millet is enough then you can make it as soon as you grind it.

It has been long time since i posted by previous recipe sorry for that was busy with summer classes and my daughters college admission. Mushroom Paneer Pasta Roll, It is always boring to do pasta in same way so try this recipe. This is almost similar to Lasagna but stuffing is rolled here in pasta sheet and baked. Basic Tomato sauce for pasta,pizza

This sauce is good for all pasta and pizza. It is very easy to make without much effort. Can be stored for one week in refrigerator. Simple things needed for this sauce. Tomato 6 Onion 1 Capsicum 1 small Garlic 5 Chili powder or flakes Salt Oregano Soak tomato in a closed vessel with boiling water for 10 minutes Remove skin and blend it well In a pan fry onion capsicum and garlic with little oil. Cauliflower base Pizza

Cauliflower base Pizza, yes you heard it right this pizza is made without any flour. I saw different people mention about this pizza base and here it is i have tried and it came very good and tasty as well. Bored with normal pizza try this different pizza. While making this pizza i had doubt in every stage if it will turn out eatable but surprise it came out very tasty. You can say this as low carb pizza or even gluten free pizza. You need Cauliflower 1 big  Egg 1 big or 2 small  Cheddar Cheese 1 cup Oregano Salt Grate Cauliflower using food processor like shown in the picture it should resemble breadcrumbs. Close it and microwave cauliflower for five minutes. Strain it in thin cloth until all water drains out and it becomes a thick ball. Mix all the other ingredients together and flatten it on nonstick pizza pan or butter paper. This base mixture will be little gooey but it will come out well just press it in hand and spread well.  Ba

You must have tasted mirch ka salan this is my version of mirch ka salan stuffed with chicken Best dish for Meat eaters spicy and tasty.  This tastes good with Roti, Rice. Ihave made it semi gravy you can make it with little more gravy i will be giving the procedure below. Vegetarians don't worry you can substitute paneer and little besan and follow same procedure.

What is this Ragi Idly is already famous why this recipe again? You may think. Normally yes everyone make's ragi Idly with some quantity of rice or rice flour, this is different there is no rice or rice flour added in this recipe instead I have added one of the not much known Barnyard millet which is always a best substitute for rice. You can cook this like Rice and eat it with sambar, rasam, curd it taste almost like rice only size is small. In Bangalore this barnyard millet is now available in Organic stores only. In Tamilnadu it is available in all bigger supermarkets Now a days it is really sad to say that all this millet product even millet snacks are bought by people who have some disease like diabetics, BP, Cholesterol. Even shop people say mam this is good for diabetics and so and so, Is it bad bad for healthy people?  why at least once in awhile people can't feed their kids this kind of food? Tapioca sticks

Tapioca is also called as cassava which is famous Caribbean foods almost similar to our sabudana vada. Normally in India it is very famous in Kerala. I had lots of cooked tapioca today and wanted to try something with it and finally made this tapioca sticks. It is quiet starchy food adding peanuts in this gives nice crunch and elevates the taste. Actually it is not a big wow thing you can see that it is just a 4 step preparation. you may think why I have stuffed chicken without cooking, Chicken cooks  very fast, so if you cook it twice there is a chance of getting it hard. And try to add less spices in this momos then it will taste good. Adding more spices will change the taste of momos itself. you can add little bit od grated carrot, tofu and also cabbage in this recipe.
