Fastest Marshmallow Fondant

Fastest, yes a really really fast recipe which will help you make your own fondant for cake decoration. Once you learn this you can use it for any occasion, as you please.
this is the perfect time to make fondant with your kid as the summer vacations are ongoing. It is the best activity to do with your kid.
As soon as my daughter woke up , she asked me to entertain her and this is what we ended up doing and we enjoyed it thoroughly. You need very few things to make this fondant. We decorated a basic chocolate cake this time.

Marshmallow 100 g preferably white
Powdered Sugar 200 g Approximately
Food colors
Unsalted Butter for kneading

Start by melting marshmallow in a thick bottom pan. It tends to burn easily so keep watch and stop the heat as soon as it starts melting faster as shown in the picture.

Once all the marshmallow is melted, add 3/4th of powdered sugar and mix it really fast otherwise your marshmallow will start to dry and get hard.

If there is some hard bits on the bottom leave it out as it may spoil the texture.

Apply good quantity of butter on the surface and on your hands and start kneading until it is slightly hard and still stretchy.

If you want to store it then apply butter on top of the dough and cover it nicely and refrigerate.

To spread it on top of the cake roll it as thin as possible on a plastic sheet.

Lay it on top of the cake and gently press on all sides evenly so as to avoid creases.

Trim it around with nice sharp knife and press the end closer to the cake.

Make your own themed decoration with different color mixed with your white fondant. Since today we got only pink Marshmallow ours turned out to be like this.

I am sure small kids will be more creative in decorating since they play with play dough all the time.

Have nice summer holiday with your family.

  3. Thanks Suneetha, now I used normal powder food color which is available in all stores but hated using it. Planning to try natural food coloring next time. Once it is done will update details.
