BasicTomato Chutney for Dosa
This Chutney is commonly made for Idly and all varieties of Dosa. This can be made easily and quickly.
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Urad Dal - 2 tbsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 4 small
Red Chili - 4 or 5
Curry leaves
Coconut - 1/4 cup Optional
Things needed for making this Chutney
Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
Urad Dal - 2 tbsp
Oil - 3 tbsp
Onion - 1 big
Tomato - 4 small
Red Chili - 4 or 5
Curry leaves
Coconut - 1/4 cup Optional
Fry coriander seeds, Urad dal , Red chili and curry leaves in oil till it turns brown.
Add sliced onion and fry it until it turns soft.
Cut tomatoes and add it to onion and mix it softly and let it cook until tomato drys little.
Add grated Coconut and let it cook until everything is completely dry, otherwise it will taste raw.
Grind it with no water or very less water with salt.
Now your tomato chutney is ready for Idly or any Dosa.
